This week it really hit hard reading Luke 6:46-49. I feel like verse 46 can just be a punch in the gut sometimes, but definitely a needed gut-puncher. Why do we think that we are worthy to call him Lord but not actually allow him to be the lord of our life? I really can't even come up with a good excuse for that and I'm sure you can't either. That just astounds me! He is so great and powerful and yet we try and do things our way. that's just something I've been pondering this week.
I've also been looking at my knees all week and let's just say that the black and blue bruises are pretty crazy. I know that probably sounds weird to read but I have a point to this. These bruises have been a cool reminder of what I get to do for the first half of my summer, and they are also a conversation piece in which I get to tell other about this crazy adventure. No one ever said that this summer was going to be easy, but I am so ready for it and all the bruises that come with it.
p.s. the bruises on my knees are from pressing them against the side of the boat while up anchoring if you didnt get that already hahah
