Both yesterdays and todays devo stood out to me. These particular segments of each devo resonated with me most:
"I think it was Aristotle who said (I paraphrase), “music and rhythm find their way to the secret places of the soul.” Music enchants the deep places of the soul because music reveals to the soul that unseen forces have power to inspire, shake, and rattle our core. Music drives the soul. God drives the music".
I find this super relatable, especially being cooped up many days and finding music to be a great outlet that brings joy and happiness. I enjoyed connecting that to the rhythm of God. It reminds me of a passage in Matthew: "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls". The Message translation reads "Are you tired, Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you will recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace".

"The burning sword of Christ circumcises the heart. It cuts and exposes to truth the deepest, most vulnerable part inside of you- your ability to trust. It romances you to trust your Father’s love as your first love and highest authority".
Vulnerability coincides with trust. To be vulnerable in the sight of God is to trust in Him completely. This means allowing Him to romance you away from the world and into His loving arms. To allow Him to embrace you is to embrace vulnerability and truth!
