Sincere Love for People

"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise." 1 Corinthians 3:18

This verse and topic stood out to me this week and I have found myself turning to it daily. This has been a time of so much change and among it all nothing is really the same except the consistency of God. Yet, I have found myself consumed with what others are doing and with how others view me even when I know that it doesn't matter. This is a time where I want to take myself less seriously and begin to truly search for the Lord to see my deep need for his strength. This week my roommate and I were trying to make plans and some miscommunication happened along the way. I had a moment of frustration and I put so much pressure on myself to figure everything out right away. But the change was knowing that no matter the pressure I put on myself, letting the situation go was better serving her and myself. I had to realize that she was just taking care of herself and that I wanted to be in a place to serve her because we are all just trying the best we can. I want to see this time as a gift to encourage others and to love people well. And I choose this today. I want to choose everyday to let go of the pressures I put on myself to be able to love others well, to be a listening ear and support, and to see my need for the Lord.
