Wow! Looking back at the notes I have taken during this weeks devos so many different things resonated with me! The connection May 16th in particular was AMAZING. At church this past Sunday we had a speaker in our high school group speaking to us, seniors, about looking for a new church wherever we go next year. One of the main points he made was that in the church we WANT and NEED conviction. In the Bible we should not feel comfy with where we are at, or that we are chillin and doing great in every part of what Christ calls us to. Obviously we are not perfect and we need to be a part of a place that is always doing its best to grow towards Christ likeness. Anyways this devo really connected to what I heard on Sunday in the way it describes our relationship with Christ. "Christ offends me by continuing to push me" and "He offends me into a healthy community". I LOVE how genuinely this shows that our relationship with Christ and the things He calls us to are not always the easiest, but He does this for our benefit. In many ways the world doesn't understand this. In a society with the "do what's best for you" and "you do you" mindset, others don't get why we would put ourselves through the conviction of the church or let various parts of the Bible "offend" us. What I love about this devo is how accurately it states that following Christ is not easy, but through our love for Him we continue to return to the conviction His Word. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS WEEKEND!!! <3

I LOVE THIS!! The"you do you" mindset totally takes away from the fact that we are supposed to be uncomfortable to grow. So good!
