Sensitivity

"surrendering to music is a mild analogy to the life, joy, and vibrant freedom of allowing the enchanting and mysterious movement of God into the secret places of your soul."

My mind is flooded with so many memories of worship on top of houseboats and nights of fudgie lovin and dance parties and jumping off the boat into the water. And these are all great examples of surrendering to the music of the summer. But I've also been thinking about how you have to hear the music in order to surrender to it. And honestly, life can get loud and I don't always hear the music. Perhaps this is a time where the loud sounds which so often compete to cover the music are removed so we can hear the sweet melody calling us to a place of surrender. I know in the past couple weeks life has become significantly quieter, and I feel like I'm hearing the tune more clearly. And I'm learning that in letting go of control of what I want life to look like, I'm finding so much more freedom and joy.
