Big Sur

This weekend a group of friends and I drove up to Big Sur for the weekend. For those of you who haven't been to Big Sur it's a really pretty part of hwy 1 in Monterey County. Upon arrival I was in aww of how beautiful this place was. From the redwood trees in the mountains to the turquoise blue ocean, Big Sur had it all. Being in a place like this quickly reminds me of how beautiful God has made this Earth. "How cool is it that the same God who created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too". This is a quote I heard back in high school, that has really stuck with me. We have all been made the way God wants us and a lot of the time I forget that and try to change myself to the way I want to. A way that conforms to benefiting my life on Earth, instead of my life in Heaven. I am grateful to be reminded that I am who I am for a reason, and the skills I have are gifts God has given me.
Not only was the view beautiful but so were the people I went camping with. Everyone that went on the trip were followers of Christ and it was evident in the way they loved one another. All of us had different backgrounds and personalities but what brought us together was our love for Jesus and his creation. This was a well needed weekend in the midst of this busy quarter.
