It's about HIM not ME

I really enjoyed the message on sensitivity because it was a good reminder that we live for Jesus. It reminded me of my prayer style which contains a lot of "Help lead ME" and " give ME everything I need". It's basically a lot of me, me, me and I realize that maybe I'm not praying to the best of my ability. Praying is so simple...yet so complex.

Some common things I say but could word a little differently would be;
Forgive ME for my sins so I can forgive others/ Forgive US for OUR sins so WE may forgive others
Give ME everything I need/ Give US everything WE need
Help ME overcome temptation/ Help US overcome temptation

Not saying praying for yourself is wrong at all, just maybe keeping our focus on God and remembering to thank him for everything and love on him. I find myself asking a lot from God but he already knows what we want and need. We should praise him and trust in him that he will provide us with all we need. Pray for others because they are in need of the same grace from God.
